A Fresh Chapter for an Historic Honours Board

Some projects come with a bit of history, and this one is right up there.

After completely remaking the honours boards last year, this month we’ve completed our first yearly update to honours board for the legendary Southampton Old Bowling Green, the world’s oldest surviving bowling green. No pressure then… just a few hundred years of tradition to keep looking sharp.

Respecting the Past, Refreshing the Present

Honours boards carry stories; names, achievements, and moments that matter to the club. Our job was to carefully update the board while making sure it stayed true to its heritage and character.

It’s always a balancing act: keeping everything looking authentic, while ensuring the layout is clean, readable, and ready for the next generation of names to be added.

Detail Matters (Especially Here)

When you’re working on something this historic, there’s no such thing as “just a quick update.” Every letter has to be precise, every alignment spot on, and every finish in keeping with the surroundings.

It’s the kind of work where patience pays off, and where a steady hand beats a rushed job every time.

A Living Tradition

What we love most about projects like this is that they’re never really finished. An honours board like this keeps growing, evolving, and telling new stories year after year.

We’re just glad to play a small part in helping preserve that tradition.

From historic greens to modern fleets, we love bringing signage to life wherever it’s needed.
